For citizens who have been affected by the black rainstorm and extreme conditions on September 7th and 8th, if they need urgent financial assistance, they may apply for support from “the Po Leung Kuk Charity Fund for the Disadvantaged” through a referral made by the Social Welfare Department or a Medical Social Worker.

Your participation is important for Po Leung Kuk to carry out relief work in the community. By putting your love into action by donating to Po Leung Kuk Charity Fund for the Disadvantaged, you can help to provide temporary financial assistance to individuals and families in need.
To provide temporary relief to the disadvantaged individuals and families with sudden life changes, accidents or special difficulties.
To provide extra support to children from PLK’s residential child care services
Emergency relief to people suffering from disasters and catastrophe (granted with PLK internal assessment and not open to public application)
Eligibility
Children from Po Leung Kuk’s residential child care service；Or
The needy in society (including families, children, youth and the aged) ；And
Hong Kong residents And
By referral from Po Leung Kuk units, government departments(e.g. Social Welfare Department), Statutory bodies (e.g. Hospital Authority) And
Economic assessment will be conducted ( please refer to application guidelines for details)
Amount to be granted
The maximum amount of grant for each application would be HK$6,000. The Fund may in its absolute discretion determine the exact amount of the grant for each application.
Each beneficiary is entitled to the grant once every five years.
