Po Leung Kuk Charity Walk "Snoopy New Year Walk" Successfully Held in Collaboration with Peanuts Welcoming Nearly 12,000 Participants to Celebrate the New Year, with "Charity Bazaar" Featuring Unique Stalls for Everyone to Enjoy
(13 February 2026)Po Leung Kuk recently held its annual Charity Walk at Sha Tin Racecourse, themed “Snoopy New Year Walk”. Several government officials were invited as honourable guests to officiate the event. The event also received staunch support from the government, business organisations, community groups, and various units under Po Leung Kuk. Nearly 12,000 participants set off from the Sha Tin Racecourse to the finishing point at Sha Tin Park, raising funds in support of more than 300 units under Po Leung Kuk, benefiting grassroots and disadvantaged communities.
The event was graced by the presence of a number of government officials, who jointly officiated at the ceremony, including Mr Benson KWOK Joon-fung, IDSM, Director of Immigration; Mr CHAN Tsz-tat, CDSM, Commissioner of Customs and Excise; Mr Johnson CHAN Joon-sun, PDSM, PMSM, Deputy Commissioner of Police(Management); Mr Ho Kwok-man, Assistant Commissioner(Human Resources) of Correctional Services Department; Mr CHEU Yu-kok, FSMSM, Acting Assistant Director of Fire Services(Corporate Strategy) and Mr Mark CHENG Yik-man, Assistant District Officer of Sha Tin District Office. Artistes Mr Lokyi Lai and Ms Stacey Chan Wing-sze (Miss Hong Kong 2025 Champion) also attended in support of the event.

Ms Amanda T.W. HO, JP, Chairman of Po Leung Kuk, expressed her gratitude for the support from various sectors: "I am delighted to join with nearly 12,000 kind-hearted individuals at the Sha Tin Racecourse for this charity walk. The successful execution of today’s event relies on the strong support from various government departments, disciplined services, business organisations, co-organisers, and affiliated service units under Po Leung Kuk. Everyone's participation embodies the spirit of 'Led by Hope and Loving Legacy'”.
She added that this Charity Walk marked Po Leung Kuk’s first collaboration with Peanuts™. With the beloved Snoopy as the event theme, participants were able to do good while joyfully welcoming the Lunar New Year. The event not only enhanced the festive atmosphere but also conveyed the meaningful message of “New Beginnings, New Hopes”, making it especially significant. Chairman Ho also expressed her hope that this collaboration will inspire Po Leung Kuk to explore more innovative directions in future event planning.
The campaign committee chairmen of the charity walk, including Po Leung Kuk Vice-Chairman Mr Patrick H.C. KWOK; and Directors Mrs Stephanie TANG, Mr Derek MON, and Mrs Laverna J.L. CHAN TONG, expressed their gratitude to the principals and teachers of the five coordinating schools that assisted in organising this event. They stated their hope that through this charity walk, the strength of various sectors of society can be united to continue providing care and warmth to those in need in the new year. Po Leung Kuk will also continue to provide more appropriate and diverse support services for people in need in the society.

Snoopy-Themed Elements Enliven the Walk, Attracting Enthusiastic Participation from Public
In line with the "Snoopy New Year Walk" theme, all participants who registered for this charity walk received a Snoopy walking pass. This year's event also featured three limited-edition commemorative items, including a commemorative headband, a short phone strap, and a phone ring holder, which received enthusiastic support from the public. Many participants even wore the limited-edition commemorative headbands during the walk, creating a lively and vibrant atmosphere.
This year's charity walk started from Sha Tin Racecourse, following the Shing Mun River to the finishing point at Sha Tin Park, covering a total distance of approximately 4.5 kilometers. The Kuk also set up a "Charity Bazaar" at the finish line in Sha Tin Park, featuring a variety of themed booths run by its service units. Offerings included calligraphy works, handicrafts, Lunar New Year gifts, Po Leung Kuk social enterprise products, and tie-dye artwork for charity sale. Face painting and balloon twisting booths were also available.
