Introduction

The "StarAgent " programme funded by the Youth Development Fund of the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau, is scheduled to be implemented for a period of 3 years starting from February 2021. The program aims to provide entrepreneurial support to young people aged 18-40 who aspire to start businesses in Hong Kong or other cities in the Greater Bay Area. This support includes funding, knowledge, market access, and networking opportunities. The program will select 22 entrepreneurial teams, each receiving either HKD 600,000 or HKD 125,000 in entrepreneurial grants. The teams will also receive assistance in establishing their businesses in the Greater Bay Area. Teams that fail to receive funding can also receive other aspects of entrepreneurial support.

Target Group

Young entrepreneurs aged 18-40

Objectives

Promote the integration of different sectors, institutions, and resources to establish a complete innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem so that young people can receive support and development conveniently and continuously.
Focus on the needs of young people, mobilize resources, provide personalized and in-depth and effective coaching/agent guidance, and accompany young people in pragmatic innovation and entrepreneurship.
Through different experiences and learning, enhance young people’s innovation, entrepreneurship, employment, and management organization and execution capabilities.

Features

The Po Leung Kuk "StarAgent" programme aims to bring together various experts, resources, information, knowledge, experience, and networks to assist young people in their entrepreneurial endeavors and growth, benefiting society as a whole.

Content

The three year programme served more than 1,000 Hong Kong youth aged 18-40 who are preparing to or currently starting a business, including young people who have missed out or failed to participate in other entrepreneurship competitions or programmes. We will not give up any youth determined to achieve their entrepreneurial goals. We provide services include:

Co-organize entrepreneurship competitions and other activities, actively identify and connect young people with potential and needs
Provide personal development, inspiration and coaching services
Provide opportunities to establish project showcases and business relationships
GBA exchange trip and related linkage services
Mentorship programme
Youth innovation and entrepreneurship resource Integrated information platform
Seed fund investment and financing service
Host or co-organize the Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Summit
