Po Leung Kuk has been adhering to its objective of “Protecting the Young and the Innocent” and evolved with social changes over the past century or so.  The Kuk currently operates more than 300 services units and provides multi-faceted services in social welfare, education, medical, recreation and cultural fields for the disadvantaged and the grassroots, benefitting more than 800,000 service attendances every year.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic, the Kuk has swiftly implemented an array of supportive measures to bring relief to the grassroots:

• Food packs, hot meals and anti-pandemic supplies were distributed in a timely manner.  In response to the needs of different service recipients, the scope of services has been expanded to cover Chinese Medicine support, learning assistance and emergency financial assistance
• Endeavour to open up diversified services for enhancing the quality of life of our service recipients, including the launch of “Re-taste” Soft Meal project, which promotes soft meals with exquisite flavor and appearance to patients with dysphagia in the community
• All-round support for young entrepreneurs to store up capital and to actualize their creativity and potential
• Sustainable development of social enterprises which offer vocational training and career opportunities to the disabled and the underprivileged

In the future, Po Leung Kuk will continue to render innovative services to meet the changing needs of our service recipients.  All these worthwhile projects will only be possible with the generous support of various sectors of our society.
